Welcome to winter-born.NET, the online collective of Amet & Sephy, two rabid fannish-type-chicas living in Boston who write stuff and make web sites. We're geeks, we're proud, fear us and all that. One day I'll totally write an intro that's respectable, but today is not that day. ♥

You're looking at version 7.2 of our fair site, which is probably about as free of trappings as anything I design these days goes (damn my Type A personality!). It features the main protagonists of Kouga Yun's not BL we swear manga Loveless. Because they're pretty. ♥

& N A V I G A T I O N

Links to the sites on w-bNET are below, separated into personal and fandom sites to easily distinguish between independent work and the ghosts of fandoms past. Our fanlistings are all hanging out at Extraordinary Way these days, so check there for the whole slew of 'em. There's also a section for hostees and general site blather at the end. All site links open up into a new window.

Amet's Journal Amet's personal journal and home away from home on the 'net. Currently sporting a layout featuring artwork of our original character Glaucus from the lovely overlordu. (Hosted by Livejournal.)

Sephy's Journal Sephy's personal journal and home away from home on the 'net. Currently sporting a layout featuring X/1999's Shirou Kamui. (Hosted by Livejournal.)

Love Love! Love-Love is our personal photo gallery, a mostly unorganized hodgepodge of kittens, BJDs, and other miscellany. (Seriously unlabelled. Enter at your own risk. XD;;)

the Boston BJD Cult is a discussion forum for Boston area ABJD collectors. Meet-up info, pictures, tips, discussion and other miscellany (on topic and otherwise). Joiiiin us!

the Fairview Project the Fairview Project is our forever in progress original storyline. You cannot kill it, for it will only rise again like a particularly tenacious zombie and eat your brain. Here there be vampires and original fiction.

Elegant Monsters is our goofy little side devoted to our ABJD collection. We love the little monsters. ^~

Fallen Icons Fallen Icons is the general fanworks archive that houses all of our fanfiction, fanart, and other fandom miscellany. It hosts the fanwork of several of our friends as well, making it one huge repository of multi-fandom writing.

Onion Girls Onion Girls is kinda like Fallen Icons the sequel. Some of our more recent writing is up there, and eventually (hopefully), everything else will join it. We'll be listing both archives while we're still in the middle of the moving party. ^_^

Extraordinary Way Extraordinary Way is our shiny fanlisting collective, where all of our TAFL.org approved listings are organized for easy browsing. We've got over a dozen of the little suckers now, so be sure to take a look.

Light Up Light Up is an information and fanworks site dedicated to our very favorite X/1999 pairing, the infamous Subaru/Kamui. Here you'll find fanfiction, scans, information and even the TAFL.org approved fanlisting for the pairing.

Rose and Freesia Rose and Freesia is both a fanfiction archive and the TAFL.org approved fanlisting for the relationship between Fujimiya Aya and Tsukiyono Omi of Weiss Kreuz.

Phantom Moon Phantom Moon is the Yami no Matsuei fanfiction archive that ate a year of our lives. It still stands as a good repository of the fabled good Yamific hidden in the back end of ff.net.

& H O S T E D

Princess Charming Princess Charming is a fansite run by the fabulous Odile of shounen-ai.orG (♥!), dedicated to the movie incarnation of Revolutionary Girl Utena's Himemiya Anthy. You know you <3 the rose bride.

winter-born.NET takes its name from a horribly addictive Cruxshadows song, which someone used in a Weiß Kreuz Gluhen video and got permanently stuck in both our heads. I'd like to say that we had some profound reason for choosing the name, but really it just sounds nice and we were staring at the CD case while trying to find a domain name that hadn't already been taken.

The term 'winter born' sounds pretty, but it's not actually a good thing. As far as we can tell from the context of the song it's probably an oblique reference to an old British tradition of sacrificing infants born around the time of the solstice to ensure that the coming year would be fruitful for the rest of the community.

winter-born.NET is registered with and hosted by Dreamhost. I would definitely recommend them if you're in the market for web space, they've been very reliable.

& D I S C L A I M E R

Version 7 of winter-born.NET features the petulantly tragic hero of the BL-maquerading-as-shounen manga Loveless, Aoyagi Ritsuka with his honey (don't groan at me, you know it's true) Agatsuma Soubi, because we're way into the Loveless at the moment, despite the fact that our general reaction to its fandom is to stick our fingers in our ears and hum loudly. The scan was provided by the gracious members of the Loveless Livejournal Community, manipulated by my own self in one very abused copy of Adobe Photoshop and coded into presentability (a word MS Word says I've just made up) by your friendly neighborhood Amet, who would appreciate you keeping your mitts off her work if you know what's good for you. >D

Why Ritsuka (and ostensibly Soubi, in this version)? He is the child of a mother who cannot stand the sight of him, who is willing to sacrifice who he is in the name of reclaiming who he was, a boy who is tormented by a true name that condemns him to loneliness and ostensibly in love with a man who may or may not be making moves on him by someone else's leave. If that isn't metaphorically winter born I'll eat my hat. Or I would if I had one.
