The relationship between Soubi, Ritsuka, and Yuiko is a complex one, not the least of which because everyone in it seems to have some sort of romantic inclination towards another member of the group.

Ritsuka is interested in Soubi, and Soubi ... well, Soubi's motivations are like trying to read a magic eight ball but he seems to have feelings for Ritsuka of some kind, while Yuiko has the mother of all crushes on Ritsuka. It doesn't interfere with their friendship though it definitely makes things more interesting.

Yuiko does like to mother the both of them, chasing after Ritsuka and attempting to take care of him, much to his chagrin and amusement. If she suspects anything is amiss with him, she won't hesitate to run to Soubi, somehow understanding implicitly that he'll take care of things.

Ritsuka chafes under both Soubi and Yuiko's attention, but also gets upset whenever anything unpleasant happens concerning either of them. And Soubi, murky motivations aside, does seem to at least care about the two of them, taking the time to humor Yuiko and all but following Ritsuka around like a puppy -- er, former catboy. To put it simply, they all take care of and look out for each other.
